Mahlu Stationary Engine Museum

Antique stationary engines dating from the 1900's to the 1950s collected by the Kalaseura ry fishing club. Open Sat-Sun 10am- 4pm., all other times by arrangement, group bookings only. Entrance fee.

Stationary engines were used on rural estates in times predating the introduction of tractors and electricity. The ranged up to max. 18 horsepower and were used to power machinery such as circular saws, threshing machines and shingle machines for making wooden roof shingles. The most popular makes of engine were Wikström, Porilainen and Olympia.
